ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS
The new ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS has a metallic design, with gaming style lines. At the back of the display, you will see the “Republic of Gamers” logo which lights up after opening up the display. The screen itself is 75 Hz, 17,3 inch IPS, and has G-sync technology. It allows you to play games with no blur and reduced motion. As for the keyboard – it is a backlit, with good travel distance and pretty comfortable to type on. The trackpad is a little bit jumpy though, but users can get used to it.
The ports on both sides include- audio jack, 1x mini DisplayPort, a total of 3 x USB 3.1 ports, USB-type C port, HDMI, card reader slot and an Ethernet port.
ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS can amaze with its performance, deserving the logo “Republic of Gamers”. Including the Intel Core i7 7700HQ quad-core processor, and GeForce GTX 1070 (Laptop) Graphics Card with 8GB of video memory, this machine is a beast. It can run any game of 2017 at ultra high settings however if you do get lower than 40 fps, you might want to switch to high settings instead. The cooling system is fine but you might feel a little bit of heat coming out, although will be towards the front, not where your hands will be resting. This model includes 12 GB of DDR4 and 128GB SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD for fast multitasking performance. You can, however, upgrade to 24 or 32 GB of DDR4 for a better experience.
From ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS you can expect up to 4 hours web browsing and 1 hour of gaming battery life. It’s not much due to g-sync technology that disables the switching of dedicated to an integrated video when you are not playing. However, the battery life is not much different than any other gaming laptop with that kind of technology.
